The Role
We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring Science Teacher for a long-term position starting soon at a secondary school in Middlesbrough. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Science. Whether your specialism is Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, you will need the versatility to deliver all three disciplines at KS3 and your specialist subject at GCSE level. This is a long-term placement where you will be an integral part of the Science faculty, involved in lab-based practicals and exam preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-impact Science lessons that spark curiosity and engagement.
- Manage and oversee safe practical experiments in the laboratory.
- Prepare KS4 students for their GCSE Science exams (Combined or Triple Science).
- Differentiating lesson plans to support students of all abilities and learning styles.
- Mark work and provide constructive feedback to drive student attainment.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
- Experience teaching Science within a UK Secondary school environment.
- Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- A proactive approach to classroom management and laboratory safety.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
