A welcoming and vibrant primary school located in North Tyneside is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join their upper Key Stage 2 team. The school is looking for a passionate and reliable part-time teacher to work across Year 5 and Year 6, starting this coming September. The successful candidate will share teaching responsibilities over 3 to 4 days per week, delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that prepare pupils for their upcoming transitions. Initially, this position is set to run until the Christmas holidays. However, for the right candidate, there is a strong likelihood that the contract will be extended through to the end of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver creative and challenging lessons aligned with the upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Establish a positive, structured, and purposeful learning environment.
  • Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching methods to support all learners, including those requiring extra stretch or intervention.
  • Work collaboratively with parallel class teachers and support staff to ensure consistency across the year groups.
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Strong Behaviour Management: The school requires a practitioner with a proven track record of implementing effective and positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Commitment: The successful applicant must be able to strictly commit to the agreed 3–4 days per week to ensure continuity for the pupils.
  • Experience teaching in Year 5 or Year 6, with a solid understanding of SATs preparation, is highly desirable but not essential.
