About the School
A vibrant, forward-thinking mainstream primary school located in Newcastle is seeking to appoint a dedicated and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). The school prides itself on fostering an inclusive, supportive environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. With a welcoming staff team and excellent resources, this is a wonderful community in which to work.
The Role
This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026. The successful candidate will take on a vital role within the school, primarily delivering high-quality Planning, Preparation, and Assessment (PPA) cover across Key Stage 2 (KS2). This position requires an individual who can step into classrooms confidently, maintain consistency in learning, and lead lessons independently in the teacher's absence. Given the scope of the cover, the role is highly likely to continue through to the end of the academic year in July 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- PPA Cover: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons to KS2 classes, ensuring continuity of learning in line with the National Curriculum.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive learning environment and manage behaviour effectively.
