We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher with a specialism in Food Technology to join a secondary school in Middlesbrough. This is a full‑time role, ideal for someone who is confident delivering practical and theory‑based lessons and has experience working with workshop machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4, with a focus on Food Technology
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons
- Safely operate and supervise the use of large machinery and workshop equipment
- Ensure all health & safety regulations are strictly followed in practical environments
- Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a positive learning environment
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant DT/Engineering/Food Technology degree
- Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level
- Strong knowledge of Food Technology curriculum
- Competence and confidence using large machinery (e.g. saws, drills, workshop tools)
- Solid understanding of health & safety procedures in a workshop/classroom setting
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
