The Role
As Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning within the classroom across primary ages. You’ll help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where pupils feel supported, confident, and motivated.
Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Support: Support the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons and classroom activities.
- Pupil Support: Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and provide additional support where needed.
- Inclusion: Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN, ensuring they can access learning and participate fully.
- Behaviour & Wellbeing: Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development.
- Learning Environment: Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to support pupil progress.
- Safeguarding: Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote the wellbeing of all pupils at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting (desirable).
- A positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for working with children.
- Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
