Contract: Ongoing, Monday to Friday | 01/09/2025 – 19/12/2025
Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Daily Rate: £90 - £100 (depending on experience)
A reputable and well-resourced SEND School in the London Borough of Bromley is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from September 2025. This is an ongoing, long-term position running through to December 2025, with the potential for continuation into the academic year.
Working closely with pupils aged between 5–16 years with a variety of special educational needs, you will play a vital role in supporting their learning and development in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide 1:1 support to pupils with SEN including ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties, PMLD, SLD, complex needs, and behavioural challenges
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to implement tailored support strategies and Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Assist wheelchair users and students with mobility needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity
- Facilitate engagement and communication through differentiated and sensory-based activities
- Promote positive behaviour strategies and help maintain a structured, calm classroom environment
- Support with personal care as required, maintaining a high standard of care and respect
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role is essential
- Experience supporting pupils with PMLD, SLD, Autism, ADHD, and wheelchair users
- Confident with behaviour management and communication strategies for SEN students
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one immediately)
- A warm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children with complex needs
- Lives within a commutable distance to Bromley
