Humdingers is an independent hospitality business operating across London. Our business includes corporate and event catering, cafes, a bakery and production facility, as well as a community soup kitchen initiative. We believe business should have a positive impact. Through our Soup Kitchen, we provide hot meals to over 1,000 people every week, supporting vulnerable members of our local community. The more our business grows, the more people we can help.

As our business continues to develop, we are looking for a Management Accountant / Company Accountant to join our senior team and play a key role in supporting the financial management and growth of the business. Working directly with the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, helping to deliver accurate reporting, financial insight and operational support across our catering, events, cafe and bakery operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on accountant who enjoys working closely with operational teams and wants to be part of a growing hospitality business where they can make a genuine impact.

The business is supported by an external Chartered Accountancy firm, which manages statutory accounts, tax compliance and HMRC filings. You will work closely with both the external accountants and internal management team to ensure strong financial controls and accurate reporting across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the day-to-day accounting function using QuickBooks
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, including supplier balances, payment runs and credit control
  • Maintaining accurate financial records, reconciliations and balance sheet controls
  • Producing weekly and monthly management accounts, P&L reports and financial analysis
  • Monitoring cash flow and supporting financial reporting across multiple sites
  • Analysing labour, food and operational costs, profitability and business performance
  • Working closely with the Events and Operations teams to ensure accurate invoicing, reporting and financial data
  • Managing and reporting on financial information from Zoho CRM, QuickBooks and other business systems
  • Supporting VAT preparation and liaising with external accountants and compliance partners
  • Supporting payroll reconciliation and payroll-related reporting
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting
About You
  • Previous accounting experience within hospitality, catering, food service, restaurants, cafes, hotels or another multi‑site hospitality business
  • Experience producing management accounts and financial reporting
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills
  • Experience working closely with operational teams
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced owner‑managed business
  • AAT qualified, ACCA/CIMA part‑qualified or qualified by experience
  • Experience within catering, events, food production, cafés, bakery or multi‑site hospitality operations
  • Experience using Zoho CRM or similar business systems
  • Understanding of payroll processes and VAT requirements
