Quality Assurance Manager

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 0830 - 1630

Pay range: £38,000 - £43,000

We're seeking a dedicated Quality Manager to join our team at Humdinger Chocolate & Snacking Factory in Sherburn in Elmet, where you'll play a vital role in guiding a team of Quality Auditors and spearheading the site's quality agenda from auditing to taste panels, customer complaints, and much more!

Responsibilities

  • Managing day-to-day quality & food safety activities including GMP, GHP, Hygiene (in collaboration with the Hygiene Manager, Fabrication, testing (micro, environmental and water), trending and much more).
  • Management of non-conforming product and systems (hold logs, investigations, root cause, and close out).
  • Driving KPI achievement & supporting projects.
  • Investigating customer complaints, foreign bodies & quality issues.
  • Coaching & developing the Quality team and wider factory teams.
  • Preparing for audits and delivering excellent results (internal & external).
  • Monitor deep cleaning and ensure all cleans are signed off sufficiently and the schedule is met.
  • Coordinating and developing the site taste panel process.
  • Leading improvement & cost-saving initiatives.
  • Deputize for the Technical Manager when required.
  • Work closely with the hygiene team leader to ensure food safety, environmental monitoring and standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate with all other departments such as Production, Warehouse and NPD, championing quality across the site with a goal to be 'audit-ready' at all times.
  • Provide weekly and monthly KPI updates as part of the site management team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene & HACCP (Minimum).
  • Quality auditing and management experience within food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of key UK Retail customer requirements, procedures, working practices with customer facing experience is desirable (Retail customer training courses such as M&S, Tesco or Sainsbury's are also desirable).
  • Strong leadership skills & ability to motivate a team.
  • Knowledge of pest control & technical issues.
  • Great communicator & influencer.
  • Able to work proactively under pressure with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Additional courses in H&S, Taste Panel etc are desirable.
