Multi Skilled Engineer - Night Shift

Humdinger, Heckington (NG34 9JZ)

Are you an experienced engineer with strong electrical and mechanical skills? Join Humdinger as a Multi Skilled Engineer and play a key role in maintaining and improving our Heckington snacking site.

Position type: Full time, permanent

Hours: 36 Shift Pattern: 3 on 4 off nights, 18:00 - 06:00 (Rotating between Month 1: Monday - Wednesday & Month 2: Thursday - Saturday)

Pay range: £27.53/ hour (£51,536.16 annually)

Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance, including breakdowns and planned preventative tasks.
  • Perform machine setups for production runs and ensure safe, compliant working practices.
  • Complete maintenance documentation and support site projects as required.
  • Manage engineering stores, order spares, and control contractors.
  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, and site management teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and uphold high standards of health & safety and food industry compliance.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Formal Electrical/Mechanical qualifications - NVQ Level 3 or equivalent minimum.
  • Time-served engineering experience with strong fault-finding skills.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of FMCG processes and GMP standards.
  • Experience with Form Fill & Seal machines, ovens, fryers, check weighers, X-ray machines, printers, robot packing machines, multi-head weighers, and inline sealing machines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Full, valid driving license.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 4 or HNC or equivalent.
  • FLT or MEWP trained.
  • 18th Edition and testing/inspection experience.
  • PLC fault-finding and understanding of RCA/5 Why processes.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH certification.
  • Experience with CI projects and food industry environments.
