Breaks: x1 30-minute break and x2 15-minute breaks
Pay range:
- Grade 1 Pay Rate: £11.97/hour (Entry pay) (£24,897.60 equivalent)
- Grade 2 Pay Rate: £12.17
- Grade 3 Pay Rate: £13.13
Shift Pattern: We understand that work-life balance matters. That’s why our shift pattern has been designed to give you plenty of time off while still providing ample hours to earn a competitive wage.
- 12-hour days and nights. No weekend work, barring one Sunday 6pm start every 3 weeks!
- Week 1: Sunday to Tuesday 18:00 - 06:00 (3 nights followed by 5 days off)
- Week 2: Monday to Tuesday 06:00 - 18:00 & Wednesday to Thursday 18:00 - 06:00 (2 days followed by 2 nights followed by 5 days off)
- Week 3: Wednesday to Friday 06:00 - 18:00 (followed by 1 day off, then start again on week 1)
This shift pattern means you’ll work fewer days per week, enjoy longer breaks between shifts, and still have time to focus on your personal life and hobbies!
Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery such as Bagging, Bulking, Foiling, and Netting (full training provided).
- Ensure products are packed to the highest quality and food safety standards.
- Monitor machinery performance, identify issues, and report breakdowns to the engineering team.
- Supervise a small team of packing operatives.
- Perform manual handling tasks.
- Adhere to safe work systems and procedures.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly hygiene tasks according to established cleaning schedules and standards following good manufacturing practices.
- Complete CCP (Critical Control Point) checks within the required timeframes.
- Ensure quality and integrity are maintained throughout the production process by following customer specifications.
- Adhere to the packing plan.
- Work independently on the packing line with the support of the technical and engineering teams.
- Receive training in Level 2 Food Safety, Allergen Awareness, and various other certifications in your first few weeks.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of training others/coaching and the ability to confirm understanding when managing staff
- Ability to work under pressure

- Flexibility to work within other areas of the business as required
- Machine Operative experience
Desirable:
- Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification (or equivalent)
- Level 2 Health and Safety qualification (or equivalent)
