The successful person will support the development and delivery of innovative, sustainable packaging solutions by coordinating daily activities, validating designs through testing and trials and maintaining accurate specifications and data. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance and deliver commercially aligned packaging outcomes.
This role requires travel to Bromborough and Sherburn in Elmet, a full UK driving licence and car is required.
Responsibilities- Coordinate day-to-day packaging activities and support the development and deliver innovative packaging solutions for new products.
- Provide technical advice throughout the design evolution.
- Champion sustainable and recyclable packaging initiatives.
- Validate packaging solutions through testing and production trials and collaborate with suppliers.
- Manage packaging assets and data, including artwork, cutter guides, samples, libraries and a detailed packaging component database.
- Oversee artwork origination and technical approval and attending print runs.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying packaging issues.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships, monitor packaging trends and competitor activity.
- Experience in a packaging role within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of print processes, colour management and packaging origination.
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Great communication skills with strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset and passion for packaging.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
- Engineering knowledge, particularly relating to packaging machinery.
- Experience delivering change projects, such as new packaging formats or production lines.
- Degree (or equivalent) in packaging, engineering, science, technical or design discipline.
