Humble Grape, an award-winning wine bar and restaurant in the heart of Canary Wharf, is on the lookout for a talented Waiter/Waitress with strong wine knowledge to join our dynamic and passionate team.
At Humble Grape, we don’t just serve wine – we tell its story. Our carefully curated list features over 450 wines from 18 countries, sourced directly from independent, sustainable vineyards. Paired with a seasonal menu designed to highlight the best of local produce, we offer guests a wine-focused dining experience that’s truly unique.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a waiter with proven wine expertise who is ready to take the next step in their career. Whether you hold a WSET qualification, have sommelier training, or simply possess a strong working knowledge of wine and food pairings, we want to hear from you. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on engaging guests, sharing their wine passion, and guiding people through our extensive list with confidence and enthusiasm.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver attentive and knowledgeable table service with a strong focus on wine-led guest experiences
- Confidently recommend and upsell wines based on guest preferences and menu pairings
- Stay up to date with our regularly changing wine list and new arrivals
- Maintain a clean, welcoming and organised dining area
- Work closely with kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless service
- Anticipate guest needs and resolve any issues with professionalism and warmth
- Accurately handle orders and payments
What You Bring
- Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a quality wine bar or restaurant
- Solid wine knowledge – WSET certification (Level 1 or above) highly desirable
- Passion for wine, food, and hospitality
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Confident, well-presented and detail-oriented
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a flexible schedule
- Minimum age: 18
