Who Are We? Humble Grape was born from a simple idea: wine shouldn't be intimidating. We're an award-winning wine bar and restaurant group built for wine lovers, wine likers, and wine not-so-surers - and we've got absolutely no tolerance for snobs. Since opening our first site in Clapham, we've grown into a multi-site London group on a mission to make genuinely great wine accessible, fun, story-led and more enjoyable for normal people. Our sister brand, Vivat Bacchus, is a celebrated South African restaurant with deep roots in London's dining scene. A champion of South African wine and cuisine, Vivat Bacchus brings the warmth, flavour, and extraordinary produce of the Cape to the heart of the city. Together, our two brands make up a group that's scaling fast.

So, what's the role? We're looking for a Junior Marketing Manager to join our small but mighty marketing team, reporting directly to the Marketing Manager. We don’t really do “office life” in the traditional sense - we work across our venues (the coffee is great). This is not a job where you'll spend six months on admin before anyone lets you near the interesting stuff. From week one, you'll be writing copy, getting content, briefing designers, reviewing paid media performance, and helping plan events. We want someone who genuinely understands our brands, and we want Humble Grape to be naturally embedded in culture and in an authentic way, not by simply forcing our way into people’s feeds with random trends. We're growing, and this role grows with it. You'll be the second person in our marketing team, which sounds like pressure and is, but also means you'll be doing real work in a small team with lots of opportunities and creative freedom. If you’re the kind of person who gets a buzz from variety, loves hospitality and gets excited about food and wine, you’ll probably like it here.

What you'll be doing:

  • You’ll get real responsibility, creative freedom, and the chance to help shape two distinctive hospitality brands at a point where there’s a lot of momentum.
  • It’s a role where you can learn quickly, contribute properly, and see the impact of your work in the real world - in bookings, events, coverage, content, and busy restaurants.

Digital & Social:

  • Own and manage social channels across both brands - from content planning and scheduling to community management - making sure our voice is always distinctly us.
  • Grow our communities across every channel, and bring campaigns, launches and activations to life in a way that feels native, social-first and culturally relevant.
  • Keep sharpening and evolving our social strategy so it ties in seamlessly with broader brand plans.
  • Shoot and create content (we're not expecting Scorsese - but enthusiasm for a well-framed glass of Chardonnay helps).
  • Keep an eye on trends, competitors and opportunities, and bring fresh ideas to the table. Don’t play it safe. Go a bit nuts.
  • Overseeing our digital agency across paid social, search, and SEO. You won't be running the campaigns yourself, but you should understand them well enough to ask the right questions and push back when something isn’t working.
  • Stay on top of SEO best practices and help make sure our websites are discoverable, useful and easy to navigate.
  • Track and report on marketing performance across channels, using Google Analytics and other tools to flag what’s working - and what isn’t.
  • Help manage our email marketing: copywriting, building, scheduling, and analysing campaigns.

Local Marketing:

  • Work with local community partners to drive footfall and raise brand awareness around our sites.
  • Identify hyperlocal marketing opportunities and help activate them.
  • Assist with new site launches.
  • Support and brief our General Managers on any new marketing initiatives.

PR & Partnerships:

  • Supporting our PR agency with the planning and coordination of press visits.
  • Managing entries into relevant industry awards.
  • Assisting in identifying and coordinating potential brand partnership opportunities.

Campaigns & Events:

  • Support end-to-end campaign planning - from concept through to execution and reporting.
  • Planning and promoting events - tastings, supper clubs, seasonal stuff - anything you can think of.
  • Work closely with our designer to brief, review, and sign off on collateral - menus, posters, digital assets, email graphics, and more.

Great To Haves:

  • You don’t need to be weird and have a funky personality by any means, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.
  • Upwards of 2 years’ experience working in marketing, either in-house or at an agency, is essential.
  • Hospitality experience is preferred - if you've worked front-of-house, managed events, or just spent a lot of your life in restaurants and bars, that shapes the way you think - and we love that.
  • Genuine interest in food and wine will take you far here. You actively live, breathe, eat and drink our culture.
  • You’re excited to try your way through our wine list with our Head of Wine, Carlos (it’s called work/life balance).
  • Digitally fluent across social, paid media, SEO, email and web.
  • A strategic thinker who can think long-term, come up with bold ideas, articulate them clearly, and bring people along for the ride - with proven experience developing and implementing social and digital strategies.
  • An excellent project manager, with experience delivering big brand campaigns, managing multiple internal and external stakeholders, and juggling brands, projects and deadlines without dropping the ball.
  • Curious, energetic and hungry to learn. You don’t wait to be told what to do - you look for the next thing that needs doing.
  • A versatile copywriter who can switch seamlessly between brand tones of voice, with flawless grammar, spelling and punctuation, plus the right amount of creative spark.
  • Imaginative and full of ideas, but also sharp on detail, good with feedback, able to prioritise, work collaboratively, see the bigger picture and stay calm when things get hectic.
  • Confidence backing up your thinking with data. Strong analytical skills and experience with social analytics tools would be a massive plus.
  • You take ownership: if it’s in your patch, you care about it.

What you'll get:

  • A salary of £32,000 - £36,000 depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working - 3 days in the office, 2 days at home.
  • A front-row seat to a scaling hospitality group.
  • Access to world-class wines.
  • Training & development support (including WSET certifications).
  • Staff discounts across all venues, for retail and our events.
  • Cycle-to-Work scheme.
  • Supplier trips & annual staff events.
  • Free team meals.
  • A small, weird, and wonderful team led by a Marketing Manager who wants to see you develop.
  • An environment where your ideas are heard - no matter how unhinged they are.
  • Dog-friendly workspace.

Still here? Great! Apply with your CV and cover letter and get creative. If you have a portfolio please feel free to send that too.
