About the Role

  • Part time, term time, Permanent, 32.5 Hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise students in their work during the absence of their teacher, as directed by the Cover Manager.
  • Liaise with Subject Leaders and other teaching staff to clarify instructions.
  • Liaise with the assistant SENCO regarding students who need support in covered classes.
  • Administer clear instructions based on the detailed work set and actively supervise students.
  • Inform the subject teacher of any non‑participation by individual students.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of work set for cover lessons.
  • Provide feedback on learning activities and contribute to Academy review and development planning.
  • Help manage behaviour in accordance with the school’s Behaviour Policy.
  • Promote pride in Humberston Academy and its ethos.
  • Attend staff briefings and other meetings within working hours.
  • Attend professional development sessions within working hours.

Additional Support During Non‑Cover Time

  • When not required to cover for teachers, provide general support appropriate to your skills and experience, including preparing relevant additional cover resources.
