An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join the Community Nursing Service in Scarborough.
Our Community Nursing Service works across Scarborough & Filey providing personalised, quality care to patients in their own homes including care homes.
This is a 7 day service with a shift pattern which will include late and night shifts.
Main duties of the job
Day to day the role includes visiting patients to provide the care required according to the care plan written by a registered nurse, participating in handovers and/or safety huddles, and documenting the care provided. Clinical skills developed and used within the role include:
- Vital observations
- Recognise and escalate issues of concern and/or safety including the deteriorating patient and issues of safeguarding
- Phlebotomy
- Injections
- Wound care
- Bladder (including catheters) & bowel care
- End of life care
- Moving & Handling of patients
- Equipment provision & instruction in use
