We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Refrigeration Engineer to support our experienced engineers in the installation, service, and maintenance of refrigeration systems across commercial and/or retail sites. This role is ideal for someone with basic refrigeration knowledge looking to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting senior engineers with the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration systems (cold rooms, display fridges, pack systems, etc.)
  • Supporting fault-finding and diagnostic work
  • Helping with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks
  • Ensuring tools, equipment, and materials are ready and available on-site
  • Following health and safety procedures at all times
  • Learning on the job and gradually building technical knowledge
  • Completing any required paperwork and job sheets under supervision

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of refrigeration systems (through college, apprenticeship, or work experience)
  • Keen interest in developing a career in the refrigeration trade
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior engineers
  • Strong work ethic and good communication skills
  • Flexibility to travel to different sites
  • Full UK driving licence (or working toward it) – desirable

Desirable

  • Enrolled in or completed a Level 2/3 Refrigeration & Air Conditioning course
  • F-Gas training or awareness
  • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one
  • Previous site or hands-on experience (even if limited)
