We are seeking an experienced fitter and relief service engineer with a strong mechanical and pneumatic background. This is a workshop and field-based role where you will be responsible for helping build machines and, when required, the installation, servicing and maintenance of machinery and systems across various client sites. While the primary focus is on mechanical and pneumatic systems, a working knowledge of basic electrical systems would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Build up and assemble a range of food depositing machinery
- Service machinery in-house
- Install and commission machinery on customer sites
- Diagnose mechanical and pneumatic faults and carry out efficient repairs
- Document service visits, repairs and technical issues clearly and accurately
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
- Train customers on proper equipment use and care
- Manage own calendar
- Liaise with engineering and production departments to report issues and improvements
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a service or maintenance engineering role
- Strong mechanical and pneumatic fault-finding skills
- Basic understanding of electrical systems (advantageous but not essential)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Full UK driving licence
