Job Description

ROLE TITLE: Conveyancing & Private Client Solicitor

REPORTS TO: Team Leader

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week M-F 8.30-5 one hour for lunch

PERIOD: Permanent

RATE OF PAY: From £30,000 to £55,000 dependent on experience

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Conveyancing & Private Client Solicitor to join our reputable legal practice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload specialising in property transactions and private client matters and supervising other staff members within the department.

The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and proficiency in IT systems relevant to legal practice.

The position is permanent (cover) for a period of 9 -12 months with the view to becoming permanent and progression in the Practice for the right candidate. The hours are 8.30am to 5pm (with one hour for lunch) Monday to Friday (additionally, the successful candidate would be expected to devote such other time to suit the needs of the business). Hybrid working considered.

Start date is negotiable (for any candidate that me be coming to the end of an existing/fixed term contract).

Qualifications/Skillset

Qualified Solicitor (at least 3 year PQE) with relevant practicing certificate recognised in England and Wales.

Proven experience in conveyancing (residential and commercial) and private client work.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously

Proficiency in IT systems used in legal practice such as case management software and document management tools

Effective time management skills to ensure deadlines are consistently met

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with a professional attitude towards client service

Oversee quality assurance across all conveyancing transactions, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Maintain the firm’s CQS accreditation and lender panel memberships.

Develop and maintain any internal policies and procedures in line with SRA guidance and the Conveyancing Protocol.
