The post-holder will be based at Grimsby hospital but it is anticipated that they will contribute to acute intervention in HUTH including participation in the PPCI on call. There will be no expectation of travel between Trusts during any working day.

Main duties of the job

Both Scunthorpe Hospital and Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby have cardiac catheterisation labs. Activity in Scunthorpe is predominantly diagnostic whereas PCI is performed in Grimsby. This includes both elective as well as acute (NSTEMI) patients. The cardiac unit is purpose built with day case facilities and there is access to IVUS / iFR and a broad range of interventional kit. Patients with complex disease such as calcified lesions or chronic occlusions are referred for intervention in HUTH.
