Here at Humanoid, we believe in a future where robots amplify human potential. That’s why we’ve set out on a mission to build the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. We’re bringing that mission to life with HMND‑01 Alpha - our rapidly developed humanoid platform now running in real industrial pilots - and we’re growing the team to take it even further.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing QC Engineer to establish the quality control process for humanoid robot manufacturing — from incoming parts and intermediate assemblies all the way to final product validation. This is a foundational role. Our production line is being built up now. You will define the QC routines, design the test rigs that gate each stage, commission the equipment that runs them, and work directly with suppliers and assembly teams. You will not be inheriting a polished process — you will be writing it.

What You'll Do

  • QC Process Establishment
    • End-to-End Routines: Define QC routines for incoming parts, intermediate assemblies, and outgoing finished robots, including pass/fail criteria and acceptance ranges.
    • Process Integration: Integrate QC steps into the production pipeline so that defects are caught at the cheapest possible stage.
    • Test Method Design: Create test methods for each QC stage and document them so the production team can execute without rework.
  • Test Jig & Equipment Definition
    • Jig Requirements: Define requirements for production test jigs and fixtures — what they measure, at what tolerances, and what data they capture.
    • Test Equipment: Identify, procure, and commission test equipment for the production line.
    • Vendor Management: Where appropriate, work with external vendors to design or supply custom jigs and instrumentation.
  • Production Quality Operations
    • Supplier QC: Communicate with suppliers on quality issues, root‑cause defects coming in from outside, and define incoming inspection criteria.
    • Defect Reporting: Establish defect reporting standards — what is captured, where it lives, and how it loops back to design and supply.
    • Continuous Improvement: Keep QC methods up to date as the product evolves and as we learn from production data.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing QC, production test engineering, or hardware reliability, ideally in robotics, automotive, or other complex assembled products.
  • Production Operations: Strong familiarity with typical hardware production operations — flow, takt, work instructions, traveler documentation.
  • Drawings: Strong knowledge of technical drawings (mechanical and electrical), including GD&T basics.
  • Measurement: Experience with mechanical measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM) and electrical measurement tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, programmable supplies).
  • Test Theory: Strong grasp of test design — what to test, how much, and what variability is acceptable.
  • Test Tracking: Experience with test/task tracking systems (Jira, X‑Ray, TestRail, or similar).

Nice-to-Have:

  • Test rig and fixture design experience (mechanical and/or electrical).
  • Experience with industrial automation equipment (servos, gateways, sensors, PLCs).
  • Familiarity with embedded device testing.
  • Python for ad‑hoc data analysis or light test automation.
  • Experience working directly with suppliers across geographies.
  • Knowledge of statistical quality control fundamentals (SPC, MSA).

What We Offer

  • Meaningful time off to rest and recharge: 23 days of annual leave (accrued), 15 days of paid sick leave, and paid company holidays.
  • Fully funded private healthcare for UK employees, with broad provider access, virtual and in‑person care, and strong mental health and serious illness support.
  • Equity included–we believe builders should share in what they build.
  • Pension scheme with a total 8% contribution (5% employee, 3% employer) on full earnings.
  • Free daily breakfast, catered lunch, and snacks in‑office.
  • Collaboration with top‑tier engineers, researchers, and product experts in AI and robotics.
  • Freedom to influence the product and own key initiatives.
