As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer on the Core Platform team, you’ll play a key part in turning ambitious, open‑ended ideas into high‑performing, real‑world robotics solutions. Your work will span hands‑on design, collaborative prototyping, and technical validation, driving innovation in mechanisms and structures. You’ll develop detailed CAD models and documentation, ensure manufacturability and safety, and work closely with cross‑disciplinary teams and vendors—all while adapting to rapidly evolving project needs. What You’ll Do
- Interpret Open‑Ended Design Requirements: Help transform broad project requirements into detailed, pragmatic design specifications for new systems and components.
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work with engineers from various disciplines to brainstorm, design, and develop prototype robots that meet challenging performance targets.
- Innovate with Mechanisms and Structures: Design and refine innovative mechanisms, interfaces, and structures that elevate robot performance, from energy‑absorbing crash protection to ergonomic robot coverings.
