About Us

We’re building humanoid robots at the edge of what’s possible—and we’re doing it fast. With R&D teams based in Boston, London, and Vancouver, we are pushing hardware from design to test in record time. Our success depends on skilled, hands-on technicians who can bring prototypes to life with speed, precision, and grit. We’re looking for Prototype Production Technicians who thrive in dynamic environments and love working with complex mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic systems. If you’re a builder, fixer, problem-solver, and teammate —this is the place for you.

About the Role

As a Prototype Production Technician, you’ll be responsible for assembling, reworking, and troubleshooting robotic systems—ranging from subassemblies to full integrated prototypes. You’ll work directly with hardware engineering, systems integration, test, and advanced manufacturing to ensure our builds are executed accurately and efficiently, supporting a fast-paced R&D environment where every day counts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Assembly & Integration
  • Build electro-mechanical and mechatronic assemblies according to CAD, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Perform precise mechanical assembly, harness routing, sensor installation, and connectorization.
  • Support first-article builds, iterations, and rapid design changes.
  • Flag issues early and collaborate with engineering to implement fixes.
  • Support Validation, Debug & Test
    • Assist in functional testing of subassemblies and full robots.
    • Identify and resolve build or performance issues in real time.
    • Work closely with test and integration teams to ensure system readiness.
  • Maintain Build Quality & Traceability
    • Follow prototype production processes, including documentation and version control.
    • Record issues, improvements, and build feedback to drive continuous improvement.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab and build environments.
  • Be a High-Speed Collaborator
    • Communicate clearly with engineers, fellow technicians, and operations.
    • Adapt quickly to changing priorities—jump in wherever help is needed.
    • Contribute ideas to improve speed, reliability, and quality of builds.

    What We’re Looking For

    • 3+ years of experience in prototype assembly, technician work, or low-rate production of complex systems.
    • Proven ability to work with mechanical, electrical, and embedded systems —ideally in robotics, aerospace, or automotive.
    • Strong attention to detail and a deep sense of build quality and safety.
    • Ability to read CAD, mechanical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
    • Hands-on experience with common tools, fixtures, soldering, torqueing, etc.
    • You move fast, stay organized, and take pride in solving problems in real time.
    • Comfortable working in a fluid, high-urgency environment with evolving designs and short timelines.

    Bonus Points

    • Experience with robotic arms, actuators, or complex mechatronic subsystems.
    • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or other issue-tracking tools.
    • Experience supporting test or validation environments.

    Why Join Us?

    • Direct impact. You’ll help build the world’s next-generation humanoid robots—by hand.
    • Hands-on, fast-moving work. No bureaucracy, just meaningful work and constant momentum.
    • Work globally. Collaborate across our R&D hubs in Boston, London, and Vancouver.
    • Team of doers. You’ll be surrounded by engineers and technicians who are as driven as you are.
    • If you’re passionate about building hardware fast, working with an elite team, and helping launch world-class robotics— we want you on the bench.
