Overview
As a Solutions Architect on the Startups Applied AI team, you partner with founders and engineers to help startups build on the Claude Developer Platform, guiding them from initial evaluation to deployment and expansion. You combine deep AI and software expertise with a builder mindset to articulate architectures, develop evaluation frameworks, and showcase Claude’s value. You’ll work closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to translate startup needs into scalable, trustworthy AI solutions. The role offers hands-on influence on how startups leverage Claude at scale, with opportunities to travel for workshops and technical deep dives.

Responsibilities
- Translate startup requirements into technical solutions and act as a trusted technical advisor through Claude adoption
- Lead and help startups win technical evaluations by designing evaluation frameworks
- Build credibility with founder and engineering teams by aligning on architecture choices and build patterns
- Capture and relay insights from startups to Product and Engineering to inform roadmap
- Participate in on-site workshops, events, and conferences for technical engagement and relationship building
Key requirements
- 5+ years in technical customer-facing roles (Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or founder with founder-led sales)
- Experience with startups or high-growth tech companies and understanding of their velocity and constraints
- Strong builder credibility with software engineering background or technical founder experience
- Deep technical proficiency in building and scaling AI products and understanding AI engineering best practices
- Hands-on experience deploying LLM-powered applications with context engineering, evaluation frameworks, and modern AI architectures
- Strong technical communication skills translating AI concepts to founders and engineers
- Track record of selling technical products in competitive markets
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with common LLM frameworks, tools, and integration patterns
