The Senior Sports Quantitative Modeller understands that successful sports products are built on robust mathematics, accurate modelling, and continuous innovation. This is a highly specialised role sitting at the intersection of quantitative research, statistical modelling, and sports analytics. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing advanced mathematical models that power sports betting markets, with a particular focus on deriving new markets and improving existing offerings.

We're looking for someone who combines deep statistical expertise with strong commercial awareness and a passion for solving complex problems. You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy, leading modelling initiatives from concept through to deployment while collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver measurable impact. Based in London, you'll join a growing Business Intelligence team focused on driving innovation and creating value through data, technology, and advanced analytics.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing, developing, and implementing advanced mathematical and statistical models for sports betting products
  • Creating and enhancing pricing models, market derivations, and quantitative frameworks across multiple sports
  • Applying complex statistical distributions and Monte Carlo simulation techniques to solve challenging modelling problems
  • Leading BetBuilder and quantitative modelling initiatives from concept through to production deployment
  • Backtesting, validating, and refining models to ensure accuracy, robustness, and commercial performance
  • Taking ownership of projects, managing milestones, and driving delivery with minimal supervision
  • Collaborating closely with engineering, product, and data teams to ensure successful model implementation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve existing models and develop innovative new market offerings
  • Presenting quantitative findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Creating reports and visualisations to communicate model performance and business insights
  • Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior team members

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a Quantitative Analyst or Quantitative Modeller with a strong track record of delivering impactful models
  • Deep expertise in mathematical and statistical modelling techniques
  • Strong understanding of probability theory, statistical distributions, and Monte Carlo simulations
  • Advanced Python skills for modelling, analysis, and data manipulation
  • Experience with model validation, backtesting, and performance evaluation
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end model development lifecycle
  • Experience deriving sports betting markets, with US sports experience considered advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with data visualisation tools and reporting platforms such as Tableau

Desirable Experience

  • Machine Learning and predictive modelling experience
  • Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies such as PySpark or Hive
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
  • Understanding of MLOps principles and model deployment practices
  • Exposure to containerisation technologies such as Docker
