Background
The IT Solutions Delivery Manager plays a crucial role in driving innovation and ensuring the successful delivery of technology solutions that meet our clients’ needs. This position involves leading cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement IT solutions, while maintaining a strong focus on project management, stakeholder engagement, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of IT systems and processes, along with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Our IT projects range from strategy, design and planning, to integration and optimisation. The role will feature elements of architecture as well as hands-on delivery. You will drive operational excellence across all facets of our IT systems and operations, ensuring robust, scalable infrastructure and services, whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Not your typical Delivery Manager role. The role is managing an experienced team that consists of Architects and Technical BAs. The role will require someone that has a good understanding of global datacentres, Architecture Principles and 3 tier Infrastructure. The post holder will be an excellent communicator who is able to communicate with end users of technology as well as senior leadership.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Solution Design & Technical Oversight: Design and scope infrastructure, technology, and services solutions. Ensure solutions are secure by design while protecting existing service integrity. Standardize technology and services, providing architectural direction. Develop plans to streamline and improve technology system efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Resource Management: Lead, guide, and motivate a highly skilled technical team. Engage internal and external technical resources to support project deliverables. Act as a key point of contact for work coming into Corporate IT. Make decisions on behalf of clients and Corporate IT regarding incoming work. Review and vet infrastructure, software, and service-related project work where Project Teams are not involved. Ensure service availability is factored into solution design and daily operations. Work closely with the ITSM team to ensure a seamless service transition for developed solutions. Support and adhere to Corporate IT’s evolving ITIL framework. Assist with the management, maintenance, and optimization of infrastructure and services. Contribute to IT governance across technology, services, processes, and cybersecurity. Manage and maintain IT risks, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements. Ensure Information Security and Compliance are considered in technology selection, installation, and configuration.
Knowledge & Experience
- Detailed understanding of the day to day running of IT operations in an enterprise/Global setting.
- Demonstrable high level of technical competency and investigative ability to provide superior analytical skills in solving complex technical problems.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally to a wide range of people from managerial, technical and non-technical backgrounds, with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
- Significant experience delivering large scale mission critical IT systems.
- Several years’ experience managing a team of IT professionals in a rapidly changing environment.
- Broad technical experience covering Windows infrastructure, Active directory, DNS, Exchange, VDI, Firewalls, Switches, Global networking, physical/virtual Servers, open source technologies and hosted bespoke applications.
- Significant experience in a Service Operations Management capacity, including all aspects of ITIL frameworks and project delivery lifecycle.
- Significant experience of developing policy and processes to ensure best practice in Operational Management.
- Significant experience in the delivery of infrastructure related projects and services in a combination of on premise, datacentre and cloud hosted environments.
- Excellent financial, analytical, problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders and suppliers on commercial, solution delivery, requirements and service issues.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment and work independently.
- Presentation skills, articulate report writing for executive level review.
- Experience in handling private and sensitive information.
- Self-motivated and directed with a strong client service orientation. Capacity to deal at senior/executive management level and resolve disputes.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and issues to senior management with ease and confidence, and to translate business goals into technical strategies.
