We are looking for celebrants that are ready to share their skills, experience and knowledge to support and mentor a celebrant trainee. We are recruiting celebrants for our next free, online mentor training course on 15 November 2026.
Mentoring is at the heart of our celebrant training. For trainees, their mentor is the key to building close relationships with colleagues, and developing a successful practice. In turn, mentors gain valuable experience in a rewarding role, and receive £186 for each trainee mentored (plus reasonable travel expenses) once the mentee’s initial training is complete. Being a mentor is a chance for you to reflect on what you have learnt, and to gain a new perspective through a fresh pair of eyes.
To become a mentor, you simply need to be fully accredited in at least one ceremony type, have ceremonies experience to draw on, and be interested in seeing others do well and gain confidence. You must be able to offer trainees the opportunity to observe you leading a ceremony, and conducting meetings, or be able to find someone else in your area who can if you don’t have ceremonies during the training period.
If you already have mentoring experience from other areas of your life, our course will show you how to apply this in the context of our celebrant training programme.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of the role or the training, please get in touch with the People Team at ceremonies-recruitment@humanists.uk.
