TPF Recruitment is supporting a fantastic firm of chartered accountants who are looking for a Tax Partner Designate to join their team based in Gravesend, Kent. This position will be built around the candidate's experience and aspirations, and can be personal tax or corporate tax focused, or a mixed tax position.

As a Tax Partner Designate, you will work closely with the Tax Partners and wider Partners within the business, servicing a portfolio of owner managed businesses. You will be supported by an experienced team around you, and have lots of autonomy for your portfolio.

  • Developing personal or corporate tax efficient strategies
  • Providing support to clients with complex UK and International tax issues
  • Corporate - Dealing with basic tax planning, cross-border tax structuring and deal tax structuring activities, restructuring, R&D, EIS, capital allowances
  • Personal - Supporting the Head of Tax regarding tax projects for individuals (e.g., dividend planning, CGT, trusts, Non domicile, VCT, IHT)
  • Overseeing a team of junior tax staff
  • Ensuring that the quality of personal tax & corporate tax work is done to agreed cost and timescales
  • Working with the Tax Partners to grow and develop the firm, and increase advisory services to clients
  • Engaging with local referrers and other external third-parties regarding business development
  • Confidently explaining tax issues and options to clients in a non-technical manner, and presenting to small groups in client workshops or internal training courses

Requirements:

  • CTA/ ACA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working in tax and a demonstrable passion for working with clients in the public and third sector
  • Experience of a client or customer facing role
  • Proven experience in client handling and managing a busy portfolio
  • Interest in building client relationships in order to generate fee-paying work
  • Experience of operating, or an exhibited ability to operate, at a Tax Manager or Associate Director level within a busy professional practice
