TPF Recruitment, Kent’s leading accountancy practice recruitment agency, is currently supporting a highly reputable firm of chartered accountants in Dartford who are seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join their tax team. Training and support will be provided to further develop existing tax knowledge.

We are looking for a Tax Advisor who can provide tax advice across a wide variety of sectors and taxes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to liaise with HMRC, draft reports and letters of advice, prepare calculations, and provide support to Directors and Partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising and corresponding with HMRC regarding clearance applications, enquiries, etc.
  • Drafting reports and letters of advice for various tax advisory issues
  • Preparing calculations to support advice
  • Liaising with clients and attending meetings with other team members
  • Training and reviewing the work of more junior members of staff
  • Providing support to Directors and Partners in the Tax team

Examples of Work:

  • Advice and implementation of corporate reconstructions, investor reliefs such as EIS/SEIS, staff incentive schemes
  • Advising owner-managed businesses regarding remuneration planning, succession planning
  • Preparation of research & development (R&D) claims, VAT returns, SDLT returns
  • Advising individuals regarding IHT planning and CGT mitigation

Requirements:

  • CTA qualified or ACA/ACCA qualified
  • Experience with corporate taxes is essential; experience in other areas of tax is beneficial
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent teamwork and organisational skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
