Senior Mechanical Engineer – Precision Mechanisms

Would you like to take ownership of complex mechanical products from concept through to production?

Our client is seeking a

Senior Mechanical Engineer to develop precision mechanical systems and small-scale mechanisms.

This is a hands-on role offering significant technical ownership, varied engineering challenges and the opportunity to influence products from first principles.

Lead mechanical design work from early concepts and prototypes through to detailed design and manufacture.

Apply tolerance analysis, GD&T, calculations and FEA to validate performance.

Solve challenges involving materials, friction, wear, joining methods and manufacturing processes.

Work closely with technical specialists, suppliers and manufacturing partners.

Lead design reviews and support high engineering standards across multiple projects.

Help improve designs for reliable, scalable production.

Precision mechanical design or mechanism development.

Taking products from concept through to production.

Strong 3D CAD skills, ideally Solid Works or a similar package.

Tolerance analysis, GD&T and design for manufacture.

Metals, polymers and precision manufacturing processes.

Ownership of technically complex engineering workstreams.

Experience from precision engineering, automation, scientific equipment, aerospace, advanced manufacturing or another high-tolerance environment could transfer well.
