Our client, a leader in infrastructure monitoring and advanced survey solutions, is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to support the preparation, deployment, and performance of technical systems across the UK and internationally. This role plays a key part in ensuring complex survey and data capture equipment is optimised, maintained, and deployed smoothly. You will act as the essential link between workshop-based preparation and successful on-site operation, helping to drive system performance and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Getting hands-on with innovative equipment β test, calibrate and prepare systems to deliver high-quality field data.
- Mastering acceptance testing procedures β be a key part of system validation both pre-deployment and on-site.
- Taking ownership of deployments β from mounting systems onto specialist platforms to providing field-based commissioning support.
- Travelling across the UK and occasionally overseas β supporting customers on-site and ensuring smooth system performance.
- Being the go-to technical expert β provide client-facing support, training, and technical guidance where needed.
- Contributing to system improvements β bring ideas to life that improve processes, documentation, and performance.
About You:
You will be working with advanced sensors, data acquisition systems, and specialist survey platforms. This is ideal for someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, system testing, and learning new technologies. You are likely to bring:
- Experience working with technical or electronic equipment, instrumentation, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with serial communications (RS232 or RS422), and confidence with network configurations.
- A natural curiosity and structured troubleshooting mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in client-facing scenarios.
- A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel and stay overnight as needed.
