We are seeking an accomplished Manager of products and projects in Metrology or similar to provide leadership, direction, and oversight for the development of complex high-tech products. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-growing, high-calibre team and wants to take responsibility for guiding innovation from concept to delivery. The Role Based primarily on site (ideally four days per week), this position reports to the CTO and is responsible for steering cross-functional teams through the full product life cycle. You will translate product roadmaps into tangible outcomes, align resources across engineering disciplines, and ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct line management of Product Development Managers and broader oversight of project teams. You’ll foster a collaborative culture, instill best-practice project management methodologies, and keep all stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the journey. This role is based in Thames Valley 4 days per week. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and coordination across multidisciplinary engineering teams (up to 10 people). Translate product strategy and roadmaps into actionable project plans. Manage schedules, resources, budgets, and risks to ensure smooth delivery. Line manage and mentor a small team of Product Development Managers. Work closely with PMO to maintain accurate project documentation and reporting. Ensure project management methodologies are applied consistently. Proactively communicate progress, challenges, and changes to stakeholders. About You A strong academic background (degree/MSc/PhD in physical sciences or engineering). 5–10 years of leadership experience, with a track record of delivering complex technology projects.
