Do you thrive on building long-term relationships in heavy industry and engineering environments? Looking for a role where your technical credibility carries as much weight as your commercial ability?

Our client is a highly respected UK engineering manufacturer with a long-standing reputation for delivering specialist pump systems and rotating equipment solutions across critical industrial sectors. With equipment installed across major infrastructure, utilities, manufacturing, fire protection, and industrial processing environments, they are now looking to strengthen their service sales capability with the appointment of an experienced Key Account Manager.

This is far more than a traditional sales role. It’s an opportunity to become a trusted advisor to industrial clients who rely on high-performance pumping systems to keep their operations running safely and efficiently. You’ll work closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams, helping customers reduce downtime, improve reliability, and maximise asset life through tailored service and maintenance solutions.

If you understand pumps, rotating equipment, reliability engineering, or industrial aftersales environments, and enjoy combining technical conversations with commercial strategy, this role offers genuine autonomy, long-term career growth, and the chance to make a visible impact.

Become a key partner to major industrial customers:

  • You’ll manage and grow relationships with established accounts across sectors such as industrial manufacturing, fire protection, utilities, water, wastewater, power generation, and heavy industry.
  • This role focuses on preventative maintenance, overhaul, repair, upgrades, and field service support for critical pump and rotating equipment assets, helping customers improve uptime and operational performance.

Work with respected engineering products and services:

  • You’ll represent high-integrity engineered solutions known within the pump industry for quality, reliability, and long operational life.
  • You’ll identify opportunities for framework agreements, shutdown support, service diversification, and long-term maintenance partnerships.

Blend technical and commercial expertise:

  • One day you may be discussing pump reliability, seal failures, or overhaul requirements with engineers; the next, negotiating commercial agreements with procurement or operations leadership.

This is a home-based role with regional travel, giving you the freedom to manage your territory, customer strategy, and schedule effectively. You’ll come from a pump, rotating equipment, mechanical engineering, or industrial service background and feel comfortable engaging with both technical and commercial stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with maintenance managers, reliability engineers, operations teams, and procurement departments.
  • Develop and negotiate framework agreements and long-term service contracts.
  • Support shutdown planning, repair programmes, overhaul activity, and reactive maintenance solutions.
  • Collaborate with field engineers and service centres to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Use CRM and sales data tools to identify growth opportunities and improve account performance.
  • Expand your expertise across sectors including water, wastewater, fire systems, industrial processing, manufacturing, and infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Pumps, rotating equipment, valves, or mechanical systems (MUST HAVE).
  • Industrial service sales or aftermarket engineering services.
  • Maintenance, repair, overhaul, or reliability-focused environments.
  • Framework agreements, tenders, RFQs, or long-term service contracts.
  • Industrial sectors such as water, wastewater, utilities, fire protection, manufacturing, oil & gas, or power generation.
  • Technical or engineering-based customer relationship management.
  • Commercial negotiation and value-based selling.
  • CRM, ERP, or SAP systems.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • A solid engineering foundation, whether through qualifications or hands-on industry experience.
  • Home-based flexibility with regional travel.
  • Company vehicle allowance.
  • Laptop, phone, and essential tools provided.
  • Performance based bonus scheme.
  • Strong long-term career development potential.

Diversity & Inclusion: Our client and the recruiting agency are committed to creating inclusive workplaces where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to succeed.
