This is a rare chance to combine career-defining work with a more relaxed, balanced way of life.
Why This Role is Great
- Shape the technical future – Lead architectural decisions that underpin the next generation of high-traffic ecommerce and subscription platforms.
- Get hands-on when it counts – Roll up your sleeves when needed, but operate at a strategic level too.
- Guide the stack evolution – From CMS migrations to payment integrations, you’ll work across the tech landscape.
- Mentor and inspire – Support a small in-house team, embedding strong DevOps, testing, and agile principles.
- Deliver real-world impact – Contribute to platforms that are used and relied on by millions of people across the UK.
What You’ll Be Working With
You’ll take ownership of major projects, including:
- Designing scalable architecture across AWS and .NET environments.
- Leading a CMS migration to a new version of Kentico.
- Building and modernising subscription models, ecommerce journeys, and complex pricing structures.
- Integrating with platforms like Stripe and wider business applications.
- Ensuring performance, security, and maintainability across all technology layers.
About You
This role is ideal for a current Software Architect, Technical Architect or Senior Developer/Tech Lead looking to step into a broader, more strategic role. Your experience might include:
- Strong background in .NET, C# and AWS architecture.
- Experience with ecommerce or subscription platforms.
- Solid understanding of scalability, cloud infrastructure, and user-centric design.
- A collaborative, mentoring approach to team leadership.
- Comfort working with senior stakeholders to influence direction.
- A pragmatic mindset and ability to make smart architectural trade-offs.
Even if your background isn’t a perfect match for every bullet point, if you bring relevant experience and a strong architectural mindset, we’d love to hear from you.
The Location & Lifestyle
This role is based in a rural part of the UK, within easy reach of countryside walks, peaceful views, and a healthier pace of life. You'll need to be onsite 2–3 days a week, so a willingness to relocate is essential – but you’ll be supported in doing so with a relocation bonus to make the move as smooth as possible.
Salary & Benefits
Competitive salary of £80,000 to £120,000 (depending on experience). Relocation support to help you settle in. Generous bonus scheme and company pension. Free membership to a local leisure and golf club. Cycle to Work scheme. Hybrid working, supportive leadership, and a down-to-earth company culture.
