Production Engineer - Manufacturing & New Product Introduction (NPI)
Location: Oxfordshire
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm (37.5 hours per week)
Do you love seeing innovative products go from an idea on a drawing board to something being manufactured at scale?
Are you the kind of engineer who spots opportunities to make processes smarter, products better and production more efficient?
Would you enjoy having real ownership over how new products are introduced, manufactured and continuously improved?
If that sounds like you, this could be a brilliant next step.
We're working with our client, an ambitious, innovation-led technology business with exciting growth plans, to find a Production Engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, improving manufacturing processes and bringing new products to life.
This isn't just about keeping production running. It's an opportunity to influence how products are designed for manufacture, shape production processes and work alongside talented engineers to turn innovative ideas into commercially successful products.
Why This Role is Great
If you're someone who enjoys variety, technical problem-solving and making improvements that genuinely stick, there's plenty to get excited about.
- Bring new products to life: Take ownership of the transition from research and development into full-scale production, helping exciting new technologies become manufacturing-ready.
- Make manufacturing smarter: Find creative ways to improve production efficiency, enhance quality and reduce manufacturing costs without compromising performance.
- Get involved early: Influence New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from the development stages, ensuring products are designed with assembly, testing, servicing and scalability in mind.
- Shape the production environment: Collaborate with manufacturing partners to develop assembly processes, integrate systems and solve technical challenges.
- Become the go-to problem solver: Investigate production issues, understand root causes and develop practical engineering solutions that keep things moving.
- Turn data into improvements: Use production insights and performance trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Make your expertise count: Develop engineering specifications, improve build documentation and help establish manufacturing best practices.
- Work with people who know their stuff: Collaborate with R&D, quality, product management and supply chain teams, gaining exposure to the entire product lifecycle.
You'll have the opportunity to take genuine ownership of your work, challenge existing approaches and see the tangible impact of your ideas.
About You
You might already be a Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer or NPI Engineer looking for an opportunity to broaden your experience and make a bigger impact.
Perhaps you've worked in a manufacturing environment where you've helped introduce new products, improved processes or tackled complex technical challenges.
What matters most is your ability to combine practical engineering knowledge with curiosity, initiative and a desire to make things better.
Our client's wishlist includes:
- Experience in production engineering, manufacturing engineering or process optimisation, with a passion for continuous improvement.
- An understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI) and the journey from product development through to commercial manufacture.
- Knowledge of quality management, product engineering and manufacturing processes, with an eye for detail and reliability.
- Experience working with technical products, complex assemblies or integrated systems.
- Confidence using data to understand production performance, identify inefficiencies and guide engineering decisions.
- An ability to develop technical documentation, assembly instructions and practical manufacturing solutions.
- Strong communication skills and an enjoyment of working across engineering, operations and commercial teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the confidence to question existing processes and suggest better ways of working.
Experience with mechanical systems, thermal technologies, electronics or related manufacturing environments would be particularly interesting, but it's certainly not the only route into this opportunity.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are also requested for the role.
Don't tick every box?
That's absolutely fine. If you've developed relevant engineering skills in a different manufacturing environment and you're excited by the opportunity to learn, grow and contribute, our client would still love to hear from you.
What Makes This Opportunity Different?
There's something particularly rewarding about being involved in the entire journey of a product, from its early development through to successful manufacture.
In this role, you'll get that visibility.
You’ll be joining a business with ambitious plans, where engineering innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement are central to its future.
Rather than being limited to one small part of the production process, you'll have the chance to work across multiple disciplines, influence important engineering decisions and help develop manufacturing operations that can support future growth.
It's an opportunity to build on your existing technical expertise while developing broader experience in NPI, manufacturing optimisation, product quality and production scalability.
And with hybrid working considered, there's some potential flexibility in how you balance your working week.
Ready to Make Your Mark?
If you're a Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or NPI Engineer who enjoys bringing products to life, solving interesting challenges and making manufacturing processes better, this opportunity is worth exploring.
Even if you're not actively looking, but this sounds like the kind of engineering challenge you'd enjoy, we'd be happy to have a chat.
