Are you an experienced Project Engineer looking for a new challenge within a growing company? We are looking for mechanically minded project-orientated engineers to join one of the fastest growing engineering teams in Aberdeen. The company offers mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and automation engineering services all over the world with projects covering 6 continents. This role is for a mechanical engineering graduate with around 2-4 years’ experience in project engineering.

The day-to-day duties will involve supporting international offshore projects with everything from operational support, design, resourcing parts, preparation of work packs, H&S and much more. You will assist in the delivery of specific projects and work scopes being delivered by the service team both in an onshore and offshore capacity worldwide. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of projects encompassing, but not limited to, the following:

  • Carry out project surveys offshore when needed.
  • Provide engineering support for offshore crane repairs, refurbishment, operation and maintenance.
  • Project management of assigned work following strict adherence to internal company processes and policies.
  • Provide engineering support for mechanical equipment including spare parts sourcing, refurbishment plans and equipment hire activities.
  • Engineering design related to offshore crane and lifting projects.
  • Participate in and carry out lifting studies for clients both onshore and offshore.
  • Preparation of workpacks in detail and complete offshore/onsite work activities.
  • Project management activities including all technical and commercial aspects of projects.
  • Undertake offshore/onshore surveys and lead project workscopes.
  • Assist with generation of tenders, offers, design and engineering for given discipline.
  • Familiarisation with client’s and companies HSEQ policies and procedures.
  • Familiarisation with client’s and company Safety policy and the Safety Management System.
  • Identify safe and environmentally sound methods of work and systems which identify hazards at each place of work.
  • Be familiar with relevant legislation, codes of practice, guidance notes and good industry practice.
  • Plan, organise and document client work processes to deliver the required standard with minimum risk to personnel, plant, materials and the environment.
  • Give company personnel and subcontractors precise instruction in order to implement safe methods of work and pre-defined communication lines between client and company.
  • Encourage personnel engaged on project/contract to develop an acceptable safety and environmental culture, which encourages near miss and accident reporting.
  • To act immediately on any breach of company rules which come to attention and where required report to line manager in relation to those breaches.
  • To be alert to any inadequacies of the effectiveness of the management system and to bring such inadequacies to the attention of line management.

Skills:

  • Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings and manuals.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Capable of working without supervision.
  • Has a methodical and dynamic approach.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Onshore or Offshore crane and lifting experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of HSEQ requirements offshore.
  • Sound IT skills, MS project, excel, word etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified, preferably mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Consideration given to HND/HNC candidates.
