Human Engineering is a specialist recruitment agency working exclusively within the lifting equipment and heavy machinery sectors. We are currently seeking experienced Heavy Plant Fitters or Mechanical Engineers for a permanent opportunity with a respected national client.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for carrying out diagnostics, repairs, and inspections on heavy equipment used in various industries. The work includes regional and occasional nationwide travel to customer sites and involves hands-on mechanical engineering, hydraulic systems and large machinery maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs of material handling, crushing and screening gear
  • Perform inspections
  • Maintain and service heavy plant equipment
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and professionally
  • Travel to customer locations regionally

Ideal Candidate

  • Background as a Heavy Plant Fitter, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Field Service Engineer
  • Experience working on excavators, backhoes, crushers, screeners or material handling equipment is not required, but would be beneficial
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and mechanical diagnostics
  • Familiarity with inspection is a plus
  • Minimum qualification of NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Full UK driving licence required
