Our client works in the offshore, ports and shipping and oil and gas industry and is looking for a Project Engineer to work from their Aberdeen-based office. After winning new contracts globally, they are looking to expand massively over the next 12 months. You will support a variety of environments and on a huge range of equipment all over the world. As a Project Engineer, you will manage the complete lifecycle of technical and engineering projects within the upgrades department and coordinate all project elements including development of budgets, plans, work schedules and other technical activities relating to the project.

Your main duties and responsibilities as a Project Engineer will include:

  • Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring assigned technical and engineering projects
  • Producing RAMS, cable-routing designs, installation plans and project quotations
  • Conducting site surveys in the UK and internationally
  • Working with different departments to implement stock/parts orders, schedule work timescales and forecast project completion timescales
  • Reporting updates to the client and management
  • Identifying potential problems with the project, leading the team into developing solutions and ensuring that they are implemented
  • Resolving any problems with the plans and budget to ensure that the project flows smoothly
  • Hosting frequent meetings with teams and clients to build relationships and inform them of scheduled activities

Key skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Ideally a timeserved engineer with a bias of Mechanical, Electrical or Hydraulic engineering or hold HND/HNC
  • Experience working with software packages such as ERP, CMS and planning systems
  • Attention to detail and good accuracy when completing tasks
  • Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • The ability to work in a team environment but also a good ability to work independently and to project schedules or deadlines
  • Flexibility and ability to thrive in a fast paced and rewarding environment
