This role involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment at various customer sites across the UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical and mechanical background, with experience in fault-finding, diagnostics, and compliance with LOLER and PUWER regulations. Key Responsibilities: ✅ Carry out servicing, inspections, and repairs on overhead gantry cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment. ✅ Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding and troubleshooting on crane control systems, motors, and gearboxes. ✅ Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and emergency breakdown repairs. ✅ Work with VFDs, PLCs, and remote-control systems to diagnose faults and ensure smooth crane operation. ✅ Ensure compliance with LOLER, PUWER, and other relevant safety regulations. ✅ Provide customers with detailed service reports and recommendations for any remedial work. ✅ Assist with new crane installations, commissioning, and modifications where required. ✅ Work independently or as part of a team in industrial and manufacturing environments. ✅ Maintain high levels of health and safety and follow company procedures. ✅ Travel across the UK to customer sites, with occasional overnight stays as required. Key Requirements: 🔹 Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent). 🔹 Proven experience in servicing overhead gantry cranes, hoists, or similar lifting equipment. 🔹 Strong electrical fault-finding skills, including experience with VFDs, PLCs, and control systems. 🔹 Knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical crane components. 🔹 Valid UK driving licence (essential). 🔹 LOLER & PUWER knowledge and experience. 🔹 IPAF, CSCS, or similar industry certifications (desirable). 🔹 Ability to work at heights and in industrial environments. 🔹 Excellent problem-solving skills and customer-facing abilities.
