About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Execution Engineer to join our offshore crane services team, based in Aberdeen. This is a hybrid role combining office-based project engineering with field-based execution and supervision of offshore operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong hydraulic systems expertise, ideally supported by CETOP qualifications, and have experience working in dynamic offshore environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Office-Based (Approx. 2/3 of Time):
  • Develop and compile comprehensive Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Produce detailed and practical Work Packs to support offshore lifting and maintenance operations.
  • Liaise with internal engineering, HSE, and planning teams to ensure project deliverables meet client specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in planning project schedules, material procurement, manpower allocation, and logistics coordination.
  • Field-Based / Offshore (Approx. 1/3 of Time):
    • Act as the on-site/offshore supervisor, overseeing project execution and ensuring adherence to RAMS and work pack specifications.
    • Lead hydraulic testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair activities on offshore cranes and lifting systems.
    • Work closely with offshore crews, clients, and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient execution.
    • Monitor and report on work progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with QHSE policies.

    Key Requirements

    • CETOP certified in Hydraulic Systems (Level 2 or higher preferred).
    • Proven experience in offshore crane systems, especially hydraulic control and actuation.
    • Strong background in mechanical or hydraulic engineering, preferably within the offshore oil & gas sector.
    • Demonstrable experience writing RAMS and assembling technical work packs.
    • Valid offshore survival (BOSIET/FOET), medical, and other mandatory offshore certifications.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.
    • Comfortable with a dynamic work schedule, including offshore rotation or ad hoc site visits.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Hydraulic, or Marine Engineering.
    • LOLER or lifting operations knowledge/certification is a plus.
    • Familiarity with offshore project execution standards and client interfaces (e.g., Shell, BP, Equinor).
