Our client, a leading organization in the telecommunications and switching sector, is seeking a Chief Vendor Technology Officer (CVTO) to oversee the governance, performance, and collaboration of a critical technology supplier. This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the technical foundation of a fast-paced, high-regulation environment.
What’s the Role?
As Chief Vendor Technology Officer , you’ll be the driving force behind the company’s strategic and operational relationship with a key technology supplier. Your role will ensure seamless integration of vendor services into the organization’s broader technical and business strategy. Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Technology Oversight: Define and implement strategies to ensure systems are secure, resilient, and aligned with organizational goals, with a focus on maximizing supplier performance.
- Vendor Governance: Establish and manage governance processes to hold suppliers accountable for meeting SLAs, mitigating risks, and driving continuous improvement.
- Operational Continuity: Lead disaster recovery planning, enforce robust monitoring, and proactively address risks to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Serve as the bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex vendor deliverables into actionable insights for the CEO, board, and other leaders.

Who Are We Looking For?
A strong regulatory background is essential for this role i.e. telcos / telecoms experience would be ideal. Beyond that, we’re looking for someone who excels in:
- Vendor Management Expertise: Proven experience in managing and governing large-scale technology suppliers, ensuring they deliver on expectations.
- Leadership Acumen: A track record of success in roles such as Technical Director, CTO, or similar, with experience in strategic planning and team leadership.
- Disaster Recovery & Risk Mitigation: Deep expertise in maintaining operational resilience and addressing risks proactively.
- Communication Skills: The ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences, including board members and external stakeholders.
