Principal Mechanical Engineer – To £75k + Profit Share + Bonus + Hybrid working
This isn’t your standard MEP and Sustainability consultancy.
Founded by two Chartered Engineers who were frustrated with the corporate grind, they have scaled steadily and created something unique. A bold, inclusive, and forward-thinking business that empowers engineers to innovate, own their ideas, and grow fast without being boxed in.
Due to growth, they are now looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer for their London studio.
Someone who can lead projects and inspire technically, commercially, and culturally.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading mechanical design across a variety of commercial office fit-outs, schools, theatres, residential, hotels, and major decarbonization schemes.
- Managing major projects from early stage through to delivery on site (RIBA Stages 2–6).
- Supporting and mentoring engineers from Graduate to Senior level.
- Collaborating closely with their Electrical, PH, and Sustainability teams to deliver considered, coordinated design solutions.
- Driving innovation, everything from developing new tools to workflow improvements, with full IP ownership and support.
- Using Revit, H2X, and Bluebeam to develop and review technical content.
Who you are
- An experienced Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer, ideally with experience in consultancy.
- Ambitious, self-driven, and passionate about mentoring others.
- Strategic in your thinking, and consistent in your project delivery.
- A strong communicator who builds trust quickly.
- Eager to shape not just projects, but the company’s future.
What makes them different?
- Transparent Salary Structure – no smoke and mirrors; fair and open across the team.
- Profit Share + Bonus – regular reviews in June and December.
- You Own Your IP – any tool, plugin, or product you develop? You keep it, they will back it, you benefit.
- Inclusive & Social Culture – They do proper team days out, and have a genuinely supportive vibe.
- Wellbeing Support – Monthly contribution towards a healthy activity of your choice.
- Continuous Growth – Mentoring from the two Directors, constant CPD, and exposure to cutting-edge decarbonisation and sustainability work.
This isn’t just a step up from Senior to Principal. It’s a chance to shape the culture, direction, and legacy of a growing consultancy. If you want your ideas to count, your projects to challenge you, and your team to back you, this is it.
