Project Officer (Office Based Role) – £26,000 to £30,000
Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer to join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester . The role will be worked in our Cheadle Office. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £26,000 to £30,000 dependent on experience.

As a Project Officer , you will play an integral role in the Project Management Office department with responsibility including standardising and improving project management practices within Human Appeal, and contributing to key responsibilities in project coordination, monitoring, and supporting the PMO team. In addition, providing organisational, logistical, and operational support to ensure the smooth delivery of Human Appeal’s major projects and campaigns.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Project Officer:
- Ensure timely organisation and regular updates of project documentation, maintaining accessibility and alignment with PMO standards.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in data entry within project management tools and systems, safeguarding the integrity of all project-related information.
- Attend and in some cases lead project-related meetings and produce comprehensive, professional meeting minutes, capturing critical discussions and actionable points.
- Compile, analyse, and distribute detailed project status reports, ensuring stakeholders remain informed about project progress and any emerging challenges.
- Actively monitor and identify project risks and issues, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely escalation and resolution.
- Exhibit advanced proficiency and frequent use of project management software/tools to update, track, and manage project data effectively.
- Proactively monitor project tasks and milestones, ensuring deadlines are met and contributing to enhanced project delivery efficiency and success.
What we’re looking for in our Project Officer :
- Ideally degree-educated with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field e.g., Business Administration, or Project Management, or qualified by experience
- Project Management qualification / certification is desirable
- Previous experience as a Projects Assistant is desirable
- Exposure to project management principles, processes, or tools is advantageous
- MS Office Suite
- Experience of using project management software is desirable
- Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector
- Fluent written and spoken English is essential

- Safeguarding bright futures for more than 22,000 vulnerable orphans in 9 countries. Our one-to-one sponsorship programme has a built-in school attendance requirement while covering the cost of food, housing, medical care, and learning materials.

- Recovering lost livelihoods for vulnerable farmers in Gaza by planting 80,000 olive trees since 1991. The farming project provides each farmer with 30-40 prime olive trees so they can establish a vibrant, sustainable crop that yields not just food but income for generations.
- Restoring safe and secure residential spaces in Syria, like the construction of a new town with 1,000 newly constructed homes in Al Zahoor.
