Here at Human Appeal UK, we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team based at our Cheadle Office. The role requires you to be in the office full-time. This is a full-time position on an initial 1-year contract. In return, you will receive a salary of £34,000 to £40,000.

The Project Manager will oversee projects within the Global Communications department, ensuring successful content acquisition, team coordination, and project delivery. The role demands strong leadership, strategic planning, problem-solving skills, and a good understanding of media and communication processes in humanitarian or non-profit sectors.

Key responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead planning, execution, and completion of content projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and scope.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams (Digital Marketing, PR, Programmes) and regional teams for content acquisition and strategy alignment.
- Freelancer Management: Manage freelancers, develop project briefs, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Content Strategy: Define project objectives aligned with communication goals and develop narratives for media platforms.
- Risk Management: Identify risks, resolve issues, and implement contingency plans to prevent delays.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure content meets quality standards and brand guidelines; review freelancer and regional work.
- Budget Oversight: Monitor budgets, allocate resources, and report financial status to senior management.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main contact for management, partners, and clients, providing updates and addressing concerns.
- Current Events Monitoring: Keep updated on current events to ensure content relevance, especially for emergencies.
- Process Improvement: Continually improve workflows for efficiency and effectiveness.
Candidate requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, Project Management, or related field.
- At least 5 years of project management experience, preferably in humanitarian or non-profit sectors.
- Proven leadership skills managing cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Expertise in content acquisition, media project planning, and quality control.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools like Asana, Trello, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages like Arabic is a plus.
- Self-motivated and proactive, capable of driving projects independently.
