Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a National Mosque Manager to join our team based in London. The role will be worked on a full-time basis in the Office. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of a permanent contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary. Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.

As National Mosque Manager, you will:

  • Develop, manage and deliver a range of fundraising campaigns throughout the year, in mosques and organisations.
  • Work closely with the London & South regional managers to strategically lead and coordinate fundraising activities in mosques and organisations.
  • Develop a database of mosques and organisations.
  • Develop and deliver an engagement and retention plan to deepen fundraising relationships with mosques and organisations.
  • Secure bookings for collections during Ramadan and other campaigns all year round.
  • Organise events and tours for mosques throughout the year.
  • Maintain good relationships with mosques by frequently visiting and communicating with them.
  • Recruit, develop and engage with mosque volunteers to support fundraising projects in mosques and organisations.
  • Ensure that all available fundraising opportunities are successfully exploited and maintained at agreed levels of return on investment.

Key duties and responsibilities of the National Mosque Manager:

  • Promote and wholly adhere to the fundraising code of conduct and best practice by understanding its ruling and conducting fundraising events and projects within its parameters to safeguard Human Appeal, maintain high professional standards and maintain Human Appeal’s public image.
  • Maximise fundraising income and awareness for Human Appeal year on year, via managing and completing collections during Ramadan and all year round.
  • Maintain frequent visits and communicate with mosque key stakeholders.
  • Create a circle of mosque volunteers, and successfully utilise them.
  • Establish clear lines of communication by being the main point of contact between local mosques and organisations and Human Appeal.
  • Manage various engaging fundraising projects/activities in mosques by arranging dinners, events, speaker tours and conferences to capture and maintain the public eye throughout the year and raise income with a return on investment.
  • Manage and nurture a network of volunteers in line with the volunteer recruitment strategy.
  • Provide support to fundraising colleagues when necessary by attending and contributing positively to fundraising regional/national meetings.

What we’re looking for in our National Mosque Manager:

  • Education: Minimum GCSE Mathematics, English. Ideally educated to degree level.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar post, proven track record of project and events management.
  • Essential Criteria: Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office, Social Media, Donor Management systems.
  • Desirable Criteria: Knowledge of additional languages such as Arabic, Urdu, Bengali, Gujrati, Hindi, Punjabi is an advantage.
