Here at Human Appeal UK we have an exciting opportunity for a National Fundraising Manager to join our team based in United Kingdom. You will join us on a Permanent Basis with a 6 month probationary period.

Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • National Fundraising Manager will lead the development, implementation, and growth of key fundraising income streams within the UK Fundraising department, ensuring year-on-year income growth and impact. The post holder will oversee a team of managers, coordinators, and officers, providing strategic direction, operational support, and performance management to ensure excellence in delivery.
  • Collaborate with the second National Fundraising Manager to ensure alignment across fundraising initiatives and contribute to income growth of key programme projects.
  • Develop and embed effective fundraising methodologies and practices across the portfolio, driving innovation and consistency.
  • Oversee two of four major annual campaigns, ensuring they are strategically planned, well-executed, and deliver strong returns.
  • Shape the department\’s fundraising culture, support staff development, and represent Human Appeal externally to build partnerships and donor engagement.

What you will do

  • Strategic Implementation: Work with the Associate Director and Head of Fundraising to develop and implement the annual Fundraising Strategy, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and national priorities.
  • Income Growth: Deliver year-on-year growth across assigned income streams and programme-related fundraising, meeting or exceeding agreed financial targets.
  • Campaign Oversight: Lead the planning, execution, and review of two out of four seasonal campaigns, ensuring strong ROI, donor engagement, and strategic impact.
  • Team Leadership: Effectively manage and support fundraising managers, coordinators, and officers to deliver on their income targets and professional development plans.
  • Methodology Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of fundraising methodologies and practices across income streams, ensuring consistency, innovation, and scalability.
  • Programme Support: Collaborate with the second National Fundraising Manager to ensure fundraising growth for key programme projects, with clear documentation and reporting.
  • Event Delivery: Ensure local and national fundraising events are well-supported, strategically planned, and delivered to high standards, including compliance with Health & Safety and Fundraising Regulator guidelines.
  • Volunteer Engagement: Increase the number and quality of volunteers and ambassadors, supporting their integration into campaigns and events.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all fundraising activities meet internal policies, UK fundraising regulations, and donor intent, with accurate attribution and audit-ready documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum GCSE Mathematics, English. Ideally educated to Degree level.
  • Minimum of 5 years\’ experience within Fundraising
  • Minimum of 3 years\’ proven experience managing a team
  • Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office, Social Media, Donor Management systems
  • English essential. Knowledge of additional languages such as Arabic/Urdu/Bengali/Gujarati/Hindi/Punjabi is an advantage.

  • Quenching the thirst for the 2 million residents of the Gaza Strip by working with UNOCHA to purify Gaza\’s water network. And now, our newest project involves building a large-scale desalination plant to provide daily access to clean water for 60,000 people across Gaza.
  • Recovering lost livelihoods for vulnerable farmers in Gaza by planting 80,000 olive trees since 1991. The farming project provides each farmer with 30-40 prime olive trees so they can establish a vibrant, sustainable crop that yields not just food but income for generations.
  • Restoring safe and secure residential spaces in Syria, like the construction of a new town with 1,000 newly constructed homes in Al Zahoor.
