Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Learning and Development Coordinator to join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester. You will join us on a part time basis (20 hours per week). In return, you will receive a competitive salary.

Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.

As Learning and Development Coordinator, the successful candidate will play an integral role in:

  • Conducting inductions for new starters.
  • Leading on all matters related to Learning and Development.
  • Developing and conducting effective in-house training and development programmes and courses.

All to ensure the growth and development of HA staff, value for money in Learning and Development, and that Human Appeal retains the best possible staff in a timely manner and at a low cost, using a fair and objective process.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Learning and Development Coordinator:

  • Lead on the P&C discipline of Learning and Development, ensuring the training needs of all UK P&C staff are adequately met in-line with audit requirements, role responsibilities and budget constraints.
  • Develop effective in-house training programmes for Human Appeal staff, taking into consideration feedback from appraisals and exit interviews.
  • Deliver quality training to Human Appeal staff across the organisation for all departments, to grow and develop staff and talent in-house.
  • Deliver effective staff inductions for new-starters, ensuring they are familiarised with Human Appeal’s core departments, procedures and policies.
  • Coordinate Human Appeal’s online learning platform, ensuring all staff can access courses, whilst monitoring usage to develop and implement improvements.
  • Lead on apprenticeship programme coordination, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Support managers and apprentices throughout the apprenticeship lifecycle.
  • Liaise with training providers to monitor progress and quality of apprenticeship delivery.
  • Maintain apprenticeship records and reporting in line with audit requirements.

What we’re looking for in our Learning and Development Coordinator:

  • Educated to Degree level, ideally in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 1 year in a similar post working in Training / L&D.
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering training and development programmes or courses.
  • Computer literate and competent with MS Office package.
  • Fluent English is essential, with knowledge of additional languages such as Arabic / Urdu desirable.
