We have two opportunities for an Accounts Senior and an Accounts Manager to join our team. Both opportunities are likely to be based at our Wigan office, though consideration would be given to candidates preferring a Bolton location. The positions are full-time, permanent roles, working 35 hours per week, involving the following responsibilities:
- Assist the directors by preparing statutory accounts under FRS 105 and FRS 102, as well as accounts for sole traders and partnerships.
- Prepare personal tax returns and corporation tax returns for our clients, along with occasional other compliance work.
- Liaise with clients to handle queries and ensure all deadlines are met, fostering confidence in their financial position.
- Handle client queries as they arise.
- Perform other accounts and tax-related tasks as required.
Key skills required for Accounts Senior role:
- Minimum 12 months experience within an accounting practice.
- Good working knowledge of Xero is essential; familiarity with other accounting software is desirable.
- Knowledge of CCH is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to think clearly, work quickly and accurately, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively alone and as part of a team.
- Supervision and training of staff to ensure deadlines and service quality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with clients and potential clients.
Key skills required for Accounts Manager role, in addition to those above:
- Qualified at least to AAT standard; ICAEW or ACCA qualification preferred.
- Candidates qualified by experience may also be considered.
- Minimum 3 years experience within an accounting practice.
