Job Description:

The Department of Neurosurgery at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a neurosurgical senior Clinical Fellow (post CCT level). The fellow will work within a 1:9 to 1:12 rota alongside middle-grade staff, with a 24/7 complex spine and cranial consultant rota to meet increasing referral demands. Responsibilities include supporting inpatient and outpatient cranial and spinal services, and delivering regional on-call services for Hull and the Yorkshire & Humber region, serving patients from multiple locations including Hull, Scarborough, Bridlington, and others.

The Neurosurgical Unit has expanded significantly over the past two decades, now comprising 13 consultants and various subspecialists across two hospital sites. The department includes a range of specialists in neurosurgery, neurology, neuro-radiology, and related fields, providing comprehensive neuro-services to a population of approximately 1.2 million.

The team includes 12 registrar-level posts, with diverse subspecialties including complex spine, cranial oncology, vascular surgery, and others. All faculty members are subspecialized in complex spine surgery, and will serve as faculty for this fellowship program.
