As staff, we play pivotal roles in the evolution of our university ensuring we are key players in the academic world. We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Paramedic Science. The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) is a well-established centre for education, research and scholarly activity in health care and is committed to driving innovation and improving the wellbeing of society. Working in close partnership with local and national health and social care providers, the Faculty delivers high quality, research informed and practice focused programmes that prepare the next generation of health professionals for real world challenges.

The Faculty’s main base is on the main University Cottingham Road campus, and the Lecturer post sits within the School of Health Care which incorporates Nursing and Midwifery, Paramedical, Peri-operative and Advanced Practice. The school's aim to be national leaders in innovative health professional education, leadership and enterprise, and is leading the future of education through immersive simulated practice learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a strong culture of inclusivity, sustainability and excellence across Nursing and Midwifery, Paramedical, Peri-operative and Advanced Practice disciplines.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the post

This band 8 Lecturer role will primarily contribute to our existing Paramedic science programme and on occasions this will also include Nursing, Allied Health Professions (AHP) and Advanced Practice. This role will support the development and delivery of teaching and learning that reflects the nature of modern health care. As part of this, the postholder will work collaboratively with colleagues to expand the faculty’s simulation portfolio, ensuring innovative, evidence informed approaches are embedded across programmes to reflect authentic clinical complexity and interprofessional practice.

We are seeking an experienced academic and practitioner, who can bring clinical expertise and professional insight to the academic environment. Applicants will be a registered Paramedic with the HCPC and should hold some level 7 education in a relevant subject area. Experience in teaching and a recognised Advance HE accreditation would be advantageous but not essential.

The role also offers excellent academic career developmental opportunities to the successful candidate.
