We are looking to recruit an Alumni Engagement Assistant to support a busy programme of events, communications and volunteering, and to be the first point of contact for alumni (those who once studied at the University of Hull) and the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement team.

Our global alumni community, now numbering more than 190,000, is an integral part of our community. The Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement team is the link between the University and our alumni and supporters, providing bespoke engagement opportunities that build connections and raise philanthropic funding.

Do you want to work in a role that takes in events, communications, and stakeholder engagement? We’re excited to offer an opportunity to join our team as an Alumni Engagement Assistant. This is a perfect role for someone eager to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of activities. In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll be at the heart of our alumni community—supporting events, communications, and volunteering initiatives that connect graduates with the University.
What you’ll be doing:
- Responding to enquiries from alumni, donors, volunteers and the wider university community in a friendly and professional manner using our CRM system (training provided)
- Supporting the delivery of events in Hull, across the UK, and internationally—including liaising with venues, suppliers, and attendees
- Managing event registrations and assisting with pre- and post-event communications
- Working with our Alumni Volunteer Officer to grow our successful volunteering programme, including logging activity and recognising volunteer contributions
- Assisting with alumni communications, including email campaigns and social media content
- General finance administration

Working arrangements
This post will be hybrid. Most weeks you will be working from home for 3 days and working from the office on 2 days. Flexibility will be needed, though, with some evening and some weekend working required to support events and other activities. In return, we offer flexible and hybrid working options for the right candidate and welcome applications from a diverse range of individuals as part of our commitment to an inclusive workplace.
